I am making a gift basket with the shrinking bags....HELP!!!?

This is my first time making a gift basket so I need some help. I am making a teacher basket with a lot of sweets, candy etc. When I tie the bag,do I keep air in the bag or do I try to get all the air out before i tie it shut? Thanks so much.

I don't think it really matters very much but I guess you don't want to have so much air in there it's like a ballon. When you use the blow dryer to heat the bag it shrinks the way it should. Don't overheat it though. And don't put the dryer too close either. Do yourself a favor and hide the ends/opening of the bag at the bottom if you can. You don't want all that extra plastic on top. And if you are using something like a hat box instead of a basket, wrap it first and then cover the bottom with the lid or prop the lid inside to hold everything up. The whole thing will look prettier. It will also look better if you support the items with that confetti stuffing or something else so that the items are not sitting in the bottom of the basket where you can't see them. Fill up the basket as much as you can before you shrink wrap it. The point of the wrap is to hold everything in tight. Don't have so few items in the basket that they are floating around inside. Make sure you wrap the whole thing with a pretty bow.Have fun. :)
