Maps and directions to all events are a Must.Phone numbers of a family member in the area to call just in case and the hall and church. Most hotels now have coffee pots, and microwave ovens in the room. You can also ask if the rooms have refigerators .
I would do a adults and kids baskets. Popcorn, crackers, (cheese and peperonie or a nice cheese spread)if they have friges, some kind of candy bottles of water and soda. Plus a couple of $10.00 gift cards to resturants next to the hotel. Note too most hotels now serve a contintal breakfast, so at least that meal is taken care of. 2 votive holders and candles with matches. You can find a box set at the dollar store.
I would add for the kids, animal crackers, coloring books and crayons. or doodle pads and colored penciles. bubble bath or color bath form.
You dont have to get too carried away with this. You can even just put them in a nice gift bags
What should I include in gift baskets for out of town guests?
You are so sweet. When my sister got married she is well to do and a lovely person she made baskets for the bridal party I was the matron of honor and also the out of towners that took the time to come to the wedding Oh it was wonderful.
She had candies and chips and all sorts of treats I was so blessed. it is nice to see a bride concerened about others not just herself I wish you all the best and every happiness:)
Reply:Maybe one of those gift cards from a gas station for gas...that'd definitely be useful for the trip back home.
Reply:Little travel size packages of toiletries like Tylenol, nice hand lotion, mouthwash, tissues, etc.
If you have the money, a pair of cozy slippers.
Nice (but inexpensive!) coffee mugs w/single servings of herbal tea, instant coffee/cappuccinos, hot chocolate. Bottled water. A few flavor packets for the water. Granola/breakfast bars. A few apples, oranges or bananas. Maybe a single serving of crackers/cookies (World Market has a *ton* of little gift basket type foods!)
If you live in a larger city, a map of the city. Maybe a list of nearby attractions, restaurants, etc.
EDIT: The gas card is an awesome idea =)
Reply:In the guest basket I recently received there was:
- travel size tooth paste
- travel size mouth wash
- 2 - tooth brushes
- Advil
- Razors
- chocolate
- chips
- Tums
- Bottles of water
- mints
- gum
Basicly anything that you think a person my need that they might have forgotten.
Reply:Depending on your budget..I would include an area map, couple bottles of water, tin of mints, granola bars or crackers for snack, disposible camera, small tolietries, some type of chocolate, an itinerary of what events, parties or cocktail hours they will be invited, or any plans of golf times, etc. you have planned. Also include a telephone number to a reliable person who could help them with their needs or questions. A small note to your guests would be nice. If there are some special attractions they might want to visit, a brochure would be nice. Or, if $$ permits, tickets to a special attraction or a gift card to eatery nearby. Nice thought.
Reply:Go to AAA or the hotel that your guests are staying at and get some packets on local area attractions. Include a map and directions to the rehearsal dinner, church and the reception site.
You can give them some snacks to munch on...chips, popcorn, pretzels, candy. Get some bottled water, soda, etc.
You can add some personal items like toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc.
Maybe you can give them a little gift certificate to the hotel restaurant or a restaurant that is close by.
