What should I put in a wine lover's gift basket?

I need some ideas of what to put in a gift basket for a wine lover...


Obviously I'll put a few bottles of wine.


But what else could I put with this that they would not already own?

Reply:A fancy wine opener, cheese and crackers, some wine glasses, and maybe some pasta, as long as the wine goes with a pasta dinner......maybe a gift certificate to a local winery for wine tasting. Be creative and use your imagination, I can go on, but I will keep this rated G....okay PG13.
Reply:If the person loves wine already - I'd avoid the corkscrew or the glasses. Chances are they already have several corkscrews and already have good glasses.





I'd put in a few bottles of wine, some crackers, some chocolates, possibly some cheese (if you will be giving it to them where they can refrigerate it within 3 hours), some *travel* wine glasses, some fun wine stoppers, some pithy wine coasters, and perhaps a few books like 'the wine lover's dessert cookbook' or 'the cheese course'. If you are near wineries, see if you can get a few tasting certificates for them. I'd even consider doing some really high end pasta sauce and a artisan pasta - most gourmet shops and some wine shops will carry this type of thing.

Reply:Go to Tabletop tools.com, they have a wine opener that uses a needle like point with a little gas cartridge in it. You insert the point into the cork and press a button releasing the gas inside the bottle forcing the cork out. I gave this to my mom and she liked so much she started giving them away as gifts to her friends.

Reply:I live in wine country ( Napa ) so take it from me.... chocolate, cheese, a cute little cheese knife, a wine opener, and maybe some water crackers if you put cheese in the basket. Wine goes really well with chocolate as well as cheese so little things like that make for a great gift basket. Good luck :-)

Reply:It really depends. First of all you depending on where you live you need to get licensed. Do you want to have baskets made and ready or are you going to make them upon order? How are you going to advertise? Those are the big questions you need to answer for yourself to get an idea of how much it will cost you.

Reply:I love to give baskets because it's nice way to show how much you appreciate this person. I always give things in a basket that will in a way nurture the persons senses. For example a soft camisole or a scarf,a pack of hot coco a good book and a candle or some incense. There YOU HAVE A SIMULATION OF ALL THE SENSES IN A NICE SMOOTH WAY.

I am thinking about making a themed gift basket for my mom for her birthday and the only two ideas I have came up with are a pamper yourself basket or a movie night basket. I have some ideas of what to put into each, but just looking for other ideas from you guys on what could go into each basket and also what other basket ideas do you have or have personally done or recieved! I have made a lot of baskets professionally and personally. Pamper and Movies are a very popular theme. I think the key is in what you put in it and how well you theme it.





For example - Pamper Basket


Typical items such as lotions, scrubs, etc


Tools - loofahs, bath brushes, toe separators etc


Soothing Scented Candles


CD of relaxation music


Chocolate or herbal teas


Bath Pillow, towels


Pedicure items


a fun book or magazine to read in the tub


The key is the container as well - get creative - baskets are hardly ever reused unless very nice. Try something useful such as a pretty bathroom trash bin, a foot spa tub








Movie Baskets a super fun!





I try to include the persons favorite things


Candy, nuts, beverages, and of course popcorn. Popcorn can be the popping bags, or gourmet pre made such as chocolate covered.


Popcorn toppings such as cheese


Movie tickets


Dvd's of fav movies (can even theme such as girly movies and include tissues)


Include a snuggling blanket for curling up on the couch


A book the movie was based on





Getting creative with containers on this theme is great too, such as a big popcorn bowl and include the indvidual popcorn cups.





A few other popular baskets I do are:





Tea basket - with tea pot and cups, teas, cookies etc on a tea tray





Coffee lovers, coffee or cappuccino cups, coffees, flavored stirrers etc





Chocolate theme - all things chocolate with a fun "chocoholic gift item"





Italian theme - in a large metal strainer or pasta bowl - all the trimming for an italian night, pastas, sauces, oils, kitchen tools, towels, bread sticks, cook book etc





Breakfast theme, all the breakfast fixing, pancake mix, muffin mix, kitchen tools, syrups etc with a nice griddle





Game Night - board and card games, snacks, couch blanket etc





Casino night (great if you have a casino near you) vegas themed items, coins/ money for gambling, tickets to a show or dinner at casino etc

They do great and affordable hand made paintings from your favorite photograph. What I liked of them is that they at reeeeaally good at capturing the physical likeness. I was very impressed with the results. In addition to portrait paintings they also do paintings of pets, landscapes and anything that means something to you (like your first car, favorite vacation spot, etc). They’re the nicest people… because I was late with her gift they even hand made a custom card to notify my mother that a special gift was coming her way. I highly recommend them.

Another time was taking her to the falls in our park and to the butterfly house. She is not into movies, pamper yourself, or fix yourself up stuff like perfumes, etc...





I collect sea shells. So a sea shell basket or a hanging planter made of sea shell plus flower seeds or gift certificate to a greenhouse would be great for me.
